Meet the Founder: Gina Ho – The Heart Behind Me Ke Aloha

Aloha and welcome! I’m Gina Ho, the founder of Me Ke Aloha and the owner of Perfection An International Event Company. If we haven’t had the chance to meet yet, I’m so happy you’re here—and I’d love to share the story of how my experience in event planning led me to build a brand rooted in love, culture, and community.

From Planning Events to Thoughtful Gifting

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, I’ve always been drawn to creating experiences that leave a lasting impression. In 2004, I helped coordinate my first large-scale event alongside one of the island’s top jewelry designers—an evening that brought together several hundred of Hawaiʻi’s most influential professionals. It sparked a passion for event production that would eventually shape the path of my career.

Before launching my event company, I worked in several industries, including a pivotal role as an Executive Assistant to one of Hawaiʻi’s most distinguished entrepreneurs. That role gave me firsthand insight into the impact of thoughtful organization and seamless execution. Whether managing small social events or large corporate conventions, I found myself captivated by the logistics, the creativity, and the opportunity to create experiences people would never forget.

In 2014, I launched Perfection An International Event Company, where I continue to design and produce events for both private and corporate clients. My signature has always been rooted in attention to detail and the desire to make people feel something special—because it’s never just about how things look, it’s about how they make people feel.

How Me Ke Aloha Was Born

The idea for Me Ke Aloha began to take shape in 2020, during the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many others, I felt a renewed sense of responsibility to support our local economy. I started shopping exclusively from small Hawaiʻi-based businesses for holiday gifts, and as events returned, I made it a point to attend as many farmers markets and craft fairs I could, seeking out artisans and vendors who were rooted in our community.

At the same time, I became increasingly aware of the number of so-called “Hawaiian” gifts that were actually mass-produced overseas, often lacking any real connection to our culture or people. I realized there was a need to educate consumers on what is truly made, crafted, or designed in Hawaiʻi—and give them a way to gift authentically.

That’s how Me Ke Aloha—meaning “with love”—was born. Our mission is to make it easy to share meaningful, elevated gifts that reflect the true spirit of Hawaiʻi. Every product we offer is hand-selected from local businesses, ensuring that our gift sets support real makers and preserve the rich heritage of our islands. Authenticity isn’t just a value—it’s the foundation of everything we do.

Purposeful Curation, Inside and Out

My passion for detail didn’t stop with events—it extends into every element of Me Ke Aloha. From vendor selection to the final unboxing experience, each decision is made with care and intention. And just as important as what’s inside our gifts is how they’re presented.

That’s why sustainability and intention guide our packaging just as much as our product curation. We design our reusable gift boxes to be kept, repurposed, and appreciated—offering beauty that lasts beyond the moment. Every packaging element is chosen with both elegance and the environment in mind, from soy-based inks to FSC-certified paper goods and recyclable or compostable materials.
