Yuriko J. Design is the creative work of Kaua‘i-based artist Yuriko Justus (Kihara), originally from Japan. A self-taught digital illustrator and the creator of “Mochi-Celeste™,” Yuriko’s lifelong love for drawing was rekindled after moving to Hawai‘i, where the natural beauty of the islands inspires much of her work. With a background in international business and years spent living in the UK, she brings a unique global perspective to her locally rooted art.

Her designs often feature whimsical animals, plants, and everyday moments, all drawn with warmth and charm. What began as a small project for her husband’s bookshop has grown into a thriving art brand, with Yuriko now collaborating with many local businesses across Hawai‘i. Each piece she creates brings a touch of joy and creativity to the everyday.

All orders are packed and shipped from Hawai'i with care. Please allow 1–2 business days for processing before your gift is sent out.

U.S. Orders: Shipped via USPS or UPS. Delivery times vary by service selected at checkout, but most orders arrive within 3–7 business days after processing.
Local Pickup (Honolulu Showroom): Available Mon–Fri, 10am–5pm.

Shipping Chocolate & Heat-Sensitive Items

Our chocolate-covered macadamia nuts and other chocolate gifts are made with real chocolate, which can soften or melt when exposed to warm temperatures during transit. Please read the following before placing your order.

Warm-Weather & Seasonal Considerations

During warmer months — typically May through September — and year-round when shipping to warm-weather destinations (including the Southern U.S., Southwest, Hawaii, and international tropical climates), packages may experience elevated temperatures inside delivery vehicles, postal facilities, and mailboxes. This is a normal part of shipping perishable food items and is outside our control once a package leaves our facility.

Transit Risk

While we pack our chocolate items with care, we cannot guarantee a specific temperature inside your package during transit. Chocolate that has softened or bloomed during shipping is still safe to eat, though the texture and appearance may be affected.

Packaging Precautions

We recommend selecting a faster shipping service at checkout to reduce the time your order spends in transit during warm weather. If you are sending a gift to a recipient in a warm-weather region, consider timing your order to arrive when someone will be home to receive it promptly.

If Your Chocolate Arrives Soft or Melted

If your order arrives soft, please refrigerate or place in a cool area immediately. The chocolate will typically re-set as it cools and is safe to enjoy. If the product arrived in an unsatisfactory condition beyond softening — such as a broken seal, spilled contents, or visible spoilage — please contact us at info@mekealohagifts.com with a photo and your order number, and we will review your case individually.
